Technical Writer Intern
About the Job
Intuit is seeking a highly motivated and talented Technical Writer Internship for a Summer Internship in our Developer Relations Team. This exciting internship is a 12-week opportunity for the right individual to join a fun, dynamic, and fast-paced environment where you will work with a team of Content Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Content Designers who are working to help millions of customers across our Products.
Job Responsibilities
- Create clear and concise contextual/point-of-need help and learning content from documentation to technical blog posts
- Review and edit content developed by other team members
- Work closely with internal business stakeholders to understand key customer needs
- Manage multiple projects and priorities
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Create helpful, scalable documentation on the processes
- Troubleshoot application issues related to point-of-need content
- Gain familiarity and proficiency with our Intuit Business
- Use data to derive customer insights to help solve customer problems
- Validate deliverables by performing content reviews based on quantitative data and customer feedback
- Innovate and explore creative ideas on improving the customer experience.
- Develop and implement projects, communication, and engagement initiatives that drive the overall channel strategy, reflect the key messages and connect to the target audience
- Identify and share opportunities based on themes in feedback
- Collaborate with partners across the company to establish and support project requirements
- Write, design and distribute campaigns
- Collect, analyze, and report data on projects
- Strong project management skills (i.e., planning, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects/tasks) exhibiting solid end-to-end thinking
- Strong written and oral communication and listening skills
Skills & Experience
- Current enrollment in a degree-seeking undergraduate program, with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2023
- Must reside in the U.S. during the summer internship program (see location below)
- Exceptional written communication skills, with strong design aesthetics as it relates to the visual communication of information
- Strong strategic and analytical skills
- Passion for tech industry and demonstrated interest in business, communication, marketing, customer engagement (such as through major/minor, past work experience, and co-curricular activities)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and good judgment
- Driven and a self-starter; curious and enjoys solving hard problems
- Desire to work in a structured authoring environment such as DITA/XML, markup, or HTML
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub
- Experience using authoring/content creation tools such as Medium, Wordpress, Oxygen XML Editor, OpenGrok, etc.
- Bonus: experience writing technical content, documentation, or tutorials
- Experience or exposure to modern software languages (like React, Python, Java, JS) and use of APIs
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and carry out complex writing projects with attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player mentality, willing and able to pitch in whenever and wherever needed
