As a Developer Evangelist at Selector, you’ll combine your writing skills with your love of technology, serving as a spokesperson and educator. Your responsibilities will largely revolve around creating technical content to explain complex information clearly and concisely for our highly technical audience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with programming, copywriting, social media, and other activities related to supporting community engagement for a software product. Prior experience in such a role is strongly preferred – please mention it directly within your cover letter.
Note: We are looking for an evangelist with significant technical writing experience. Such a candidate is expected to have professional writing samples available on either the company website, company blog, Medium or similar. Please do not apply if you do not have an online portfolio to share with us.
Job Responsibilities
- Work remotely, or in our Santa Clara office
- Propose, research, and write content for our highly technical audience, such as: Blog posts, eBooks, guides, primers, and tutorials, Whitepapers and reference guides, Customer case studies, Other types of technical content
- Write or manipulate code samples to support your content contributions
- Connect and build partnerships with developers, companies, and organizations
- Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to plan and produce related content
- Work as part of a cross-functional team including engineers, designers, and copywriters to create a consistent, integrated brand perception and positive user-experience
- Speak and share your expertise at conferences, trade shows, hackathons, and meetups to build the organization’s presence and visibility
- Continuously monitor and improve our content to promote reader engagement
Skills & Experience
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- Experienced in monitoring or analytics platforms for Applications, Networks, or Cloud infrastructure
- 5+ years of relevant experience involving both technical and technical writing skills
- Fluency in producing engaging content targeted at engineers or operations teams
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly communicate technical concepts
- Experience with programming, the CLI, etc
- Engagement and involvement in the technology community for a software product
