With more than a half-century of experience in IoT, we focus on solving the hard problems, reducing friction and accelerating the timeline from idea to pilot to production. Golioth was founded in 2020 and backed by top VCs such as Zetta Venture Partners, Differential, Blackhorn, and leading hardware and cloud executives and founders. We are a remote first company with colleagues across the US, Brazil, and Europe.

As the first Marketing hire, you’ll have the opportunity to build the Marketing function for Golioth from the ground up. You will own core messaging & positioning, demand generation, sales collateral, competitive analysis, brand awareness, content, PR, and social. You’ll work directly with the CEO and executive team to build a go-to-market strategy that will generate awareness, education, and engagement among hardware developers and cloud engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and own Marketing function including GTM strategy, Product Marketing, demand generation channels, content, PR, and social
  • Collaborate with CEO to set strategic Marketing goals
  • Develop clear, compelling messaging and positioning to align with our key product values
  • Own GTM strategy for new feature launches and partner with Developer Relations and Product to drive product adoption
  • Partner with Sales to create sales collateral and inbound pipeline of MQLs
  • Develop and create content including blog articles, social posts, thought leadership pieces, etc leveraging contract resources as needed
  • Work with Developer Relations to distill insights and learnings from the community and turn it into valuable content and Marketing strategy
  • Help develop channel strategy to drive awareness and interest among target audiences
  • Track and report on all metrics and continually iterate and optimize for desired goals
  • Manage budget and hire/manage any necessary contract resources

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B Product Marketing or Developer Marketing with a track record of building brands, creating messaging & position, & doing persona development for a technical audience
  • Experience working on developer-facing enterprise products (bonus points for experience with IoT, Hardware, Dev Tools and/or Open Source)
  • Ability to set up a marketing “stack” of tools and systems to launch campaigns and track metrics (such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp & Wordpress)
  • Excellent communication skills - you thrive in a remote-first, asynchronous work environment where internal communication is critical
  • Analytical and metrics-driven
  • Content marketing experience (not necessarily creating content but managing a team or hiring outsourced resources)
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, and self-managing
  • Comfortable with technical topics (no need to be technical yourself but are ok asking questions, pulling colleagues in, and learning about areas you might be unfamiliar with)
  • Team player who collaborates well with different personalities
  • US-based, Bay Area preferred (we're a remote-first company though!)
