About the Job

We believe it takes great people to create a great product. That’s why our team lives our company values, and we hire based on them, too. Since 2010, Pipedrive has been on a mission to support sales and marketing teams with easy-to-use, powerful tools that make everyday work faster and easier. Today, our cloud-based software is trusted by over 100,000 companies and used in 179 countries. We have grown from a five-person team to a truly international company of over 800 people, representing more than 50 nationalities, with ten offices distributed across Europe and the US. In 2020, Pipedrive received a majority investment from Vista Equity Partners, a global investment firm that invests exclusively in enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, making Pipedrive the fifth unicorn from Estonia.

We’re looking for a developer advocate to oversee API governance and drive change management initiatives in our Tallinn office. In this role, you’ll work with our awesome Developer Relations team on ensuring API consistency and quality, driving adoption and communicating key changes. If you’re someone who values technical excellence, is adept at stakeholder communication and has a knack for advocating for developer needs, we’d love to meet you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the internal API change management process, ensure it's followed and deliver clear and concise technical communications about API changes to external parties
  • Foster and nurture relationships within the Developers' Community, acting as a bridge between them and Pipedrive and ensuring their needs and feedback are addressed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and drive API improvement opportunities, advise on industry best practices and consistently advocate for the customer needs
  • Monitor and measure API performance, usage and customer feedback, ensuring continual improvement based on the insights
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and up-to-date nature of the API Reference
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and the trends for APIs

Skills & Experience

  • At least two years of experience in API governance, technical writing, QA or a related field
  • Great communication and writing skills in English, with an ability to effectively manage relations with both internal and external stakeholders
  • An eye for detail and a talent for conveying complex technical ideas in a simple and understandable manner
  • Experience in programming or software development is a plus
  • At least basic understanding of API principles, development and deployment
  • Experience with GitHub (or similar) and content management systems
  • The ability to take initiative, make decisions and defend the decisions if they’re challenged
  • Experience in managing and implementing change in tech environments, especially around APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to capture, prioritize and act on customer feedback to improve API experience
  • The capability to drive initiatives and strategies that boost API adoption and stability
  • A degree in computer science, information technology or a related field is a plus

Job Benefits

  • A value-driven work environment where people come first
  • A lively bunch of colleagues from over 50 different countries, with offices in Tallinn, Tartu, Lisbon, Prague, London, Dublin, New York, Florida, Riga and Berlin
  • A team serious about getting things done while not taking ourselves too seriously
  • A world-class working environment full of perks like parties, craft workshops, snacks and, of course, office dogs
  • Flexible working hours as long as you’re there for your team members
  • Freedom to execute your ideas with a passionate and motivated team supporting you
  • Lots of room for personal and career development, with internal and external training opportunities
  • Competitive salary and bonus system and all the benefits you’d expect from a great employer (health and accident insurance, health days, a quarterly contribution to sports, in-house coaches, employee discounts and more)
  • Pipedrive is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage diversity in the workplace regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status.
